My vision for FBM all started with a dream to give women the ability to experience fitness and martial arts the way I did— feeling safe and empowered. I didn’t have the luxury of doing so in a women-only space though, so I decided to create one! I believe all women should have access to a safe, uplifting and fun workout environment with high-quality instruction and unlimited support, which is exactly what we offer here at FBM.

I began Taekwondo at 8 years old and played basketball and volleyball in middle and high school. I eventually fell in love with the gym and seeing how hard I could push my body and mind; leading me to get my certification in personal training through NASM, my 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo, my 1st degree black belt in Hapkido, and reaching personal goals in the gym I never thought I’d be able to. I plan to continue building FBM into the prime place for women of all fitness backgrounds and showing them just how capable they are.

See you on the mat!

COACH HIBAH MUSTAFA

Taekwondo has played a key role in my adult life, during which I have competed at many tournaments, including the state championships. I have a 1st-degree black belt in Taekwondo and am currently training to earn my 2nd-degree black belt while working as an assistant instructor.

Taekwondo taught me that when it came to fight or flight, I could be a fighter, literally and figuratively. My dream is to help bring the same in the lives of other girls like me. I love seeing the students realize the potential and strength they possess, and watching their skills and confidence develop, knowing that I am a part of that growth. My philosophy with coaching is that I believe they can do anything, and my job is simply to teach them how.

Two fun facts about me: I read around 200 books a year, and I have a crazy cat named Chipmunk who is famous on Instagram.

My go-to mantra is "It's no use to think too much and it's no life to worry often."

COACH KRYSTAL

Hi! I’m Krystal, a recent Exercise Science graduate with a focus on Health and Human Performance from ISU.

I’ve been passionate about sports and movement since I was five, and that love turned into a serious and joyful pursuit of fitness around age 17. During my time at ISU, I gained hands-on experience through internships and coursework such as neuromuscular training, physiological testing, biomechanics, sports psychology, group exercise, anatomy, and physiology. I’ve gained experience through my internships at Power and Fitness and Training and Performance Center in Bloomington with everything from Olympic weightlifting, adult fitness classes to D1 athletes and youth programs. These experiences helped shape my coaching style—fun, effective, and always personalized. I’m deeply grateful to my professors and mentors who inspired my growth, and I’m excited to keep learning and evolving.

I truly believe that movement is for everyone, and should be fun, motivating, and tailored to each individual—no matter their experience level. Helping others discover their strength and confidence through exercise is what drives me. When I’m not coaching or in the gym, you’ll find me on a music-filled drive, sipping coffee, thrifting, or cooking. I can’t wait to bring energy, creativity, and care to every person I work with!

COACH CIERA

Hey everyone, my name is Ciera and I am so ecstatic to be apart of the team here at FBM and lead our first-ever run club! Our main goal is to get our bodies moving and build a love for running through community and accountability. It’s a low pressure environment for beginner runners where they can feel comfortable learning about the importance of stretching, pacing, endurance, and how to fuel our bodies. We’ll encourage each other to be the best versions ourselves all while running our hearts out on neighborhood trails. Can’t wait to see your faces!

Facts about me: I love going to concerts, napping (lol), reading books, spending time with family, and trying new restaurants.

You can run with Ciera every Sunday morning at 8:30am.

COACH NOURA

Fitness is a passion and a way of life that fuels my energy and drives my purpose. Having struggled with being overweight most of my childhood, I thrive on the challenge of pushing my limits and discovering the strength within. I discovered over the years that I find immense joy in sharing this journey with others who struggled or are struggling in the same way. I then got my Fitness Instructor Specialist certification from one of the best fitness organizations in Canada, recognized globally. I continue to push myself by setting goals and achieving them. However, helping others embrace their fitness goals in a class setting fills me with pride, whether it’s through encouragement, guidance, or simply leading by example. I believe that everyone has the potential to transform their lives through movement brought about in a fun way, and I’m dedicated to inspiring those around me to prioritize their well-being and unleash their inner strength, especially women within the Muslim community. Together we can be stronger, healthier, and more impactful.
